Purpose & Goals

Our purpose is to develop a health and cultural humility curriculum with a focus on Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) populations. Highlight health issues through an integrative lens of historical trauma, intersectionality, structural competency and social determinants of health.

  • Define AANHPIs and discover the diversity of AANHPI communities

  • Identify barriers to healthcare faced by AANHPIs

  • Apply the concepts of cultural humility and structural competence to clinical practice

  • Demonstrate greater confidence in caring for AANHPI patients with diverse cultural backgrounds
